“It seems that everyone is talking about the digital transformation of adult social care but what is the point of it all? I’m not a technical person and have always managed fine with our systems and processes as they are, do I really need to change things that work well for our organisation?”  If these are questions you’ve found yourself asking recently, then this session is for you.
In this insightful talk, Nick Goodall, lays out a vision for the sector where information to support a person’s care is seamlessly available across health and care systems. He will explain why moving away from paper to digital care planning approaches lays the foundations to enable better flows of information between health and care, enabling providers to deliver better and safer care with the information they need at their fingertips when and where it’s needed.  And he will explain why digital transformation should not feel overwhelming but rather a way of supporting care professionals so that they can deliver good outcomes for people.

• Understand why moving away from paper based record keeping to digital social care records (DSCRs) will enable providers to benefit from better data sharing with relevant professionals, saving time and ensuring the right information to support a person’s care is available at all times.
• Understand what support is available for providers to both finance this move to digital as well as ensure they have the right digital skills in place across their team.
Understand the regulator’s position on the role played by digital in supporting good outcomes for people.
