Love Laundry Award 2024 winners unveiled
10th October – Newbury, Berkshire WASHCO are pleased to unveil this year's winners of the Love Laundry Awards.
The popularity of the Love Laundry Awards continues in 2024, with numerous outstanding entries submitted. Shortlisting the finalists and winners has been difficult as each and every nomination illustrates how extraordinary laundry staff are.
This year’s winners have demonstrated dedication, hard work, commitment to residents’ wellbeing and leadership.
Care Home Group Winner
The 2024 Care Home Group Award winner is Bupa Care Services UK for their commitment to providing a high-quality laundry service to its diverse range of residents.
It aims to be net zero by 2040, which translates through an accelerated investment plan to replace all gas laundry appliances with smart appliances and innovative dosing equipment by mid-2025.
The group is also putting its people at the centre of this investment plan by implementing the latest best practices, safety measures, and efficiency processes.
Smart appliances and innovative dosing equipment allow this group to deliver the best laundry service while reducing its impact on the environment and its employees. Investment in smart technology also enables its teams to operate as efficiently as possible.
Laundry Team Winner
The 2024 Laundry Team Award goes to Caldy Manor Residential Home, for demonstrating outstanding practices, fantastic communication and exceptional relationships with residents. Their dedication expands to other areas of the home and significantly contributes to enhancing residents' experiences.
On winning the award, Hannah Roberts, General Manager, expressed their gratitude, saying, "To have won this award is just fantastic. The team made up of Hanna, Fiona and Tiffany work so hard day in and day out and even though they are a valued part of the care home they have been overwhelmed to have been acknowledged in this way and to win an award! To say they were speechless is an understatement! They have worked tirelessly to make sure that everything they do is for the residents' quality of life, to make sure that the resident feels comfortable, loved and safe in their home. The three of them are an inspiration and the home couldn’t run without them. It truly is wonderful that they have won this award as they really deserve this and we are all very grateful to the Love Laundry Awards for this honour. Thank you!"
Laundry Hero Winner
The winner of the 2024 Laundry Hero Award is Kirsty Gladwish from Lime Tree House, Southcare Homes. She has been recognised for going above and beyond her regular duties. She ensures outstanding standards of cleanliness and tidiness in the laundry room. She takes the time to involve a resident with dementia in the laundry tasks, providing them with a sense of purpose and contributing to their mental well-being. Her proactive approach, attention to detail, and willingness to take on additional responsibilities make her an exceptional and caring member of the team.
Represented by the Southcare Homes Proprietor, Karim Manji, who was pleased to receive the award on her behalf and said: "We are delighted that Kirsty is recognised for her exemplary service and dedication at Lime Tree House. She is a truly exceptional individual who has recently been through the wars, so this is a real perk up for her."
As the awards draw to a close for another year, we extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the 2024 Love Laundry Awards. The standard this year has been exceptional, and the dedication and commitment of teams across the UK have been truly inspiring.
Congratulations once again to all our winners!
The Love Laundry Awards will return in 2025, so stay tuned for updates.
