Evondos acquired Vitacam, camera-based vital signs monitoring to improve home care workflows
)
Vitacam measures vital physiological parameters from a short video clip or stream, using advanced computer vision techniques and remote photoplethysmography. As people are increasingly cared for at home, these parameters help clinicians get a more complete view of changes in health without needing to be physically present. Vitacam is a class IIa CE-marked medical device, enabling it to be used for the routine vital sign checks of patients.
Clinical collaborations with several teaching hospitals and universities in Finland and the United Kingdom have been crucial to the development and validation of Vitacam and will continue to be so.
Over the coming months, the organization will work exclusively with customers to streamline workflows for nurses and engage senior citizens in their own health.
Evondos Group’s automated medication dispensing solutions enable a very high level of adherence and help care organizations provide care in an effective and meaningful way. The combination of Evondos solutions and Vitacam vital signs monitoring will support independent living at home by streamlining care workflows even further.
“Our team at Evondos is very impressed with Vitacam’s camera-based vital signs monitoring capabilities, developed for the most demanding care environment. A scientific development in cooperation with leading university hospitals in the UK and Finland combined with Class II Medical device classification brings good opportunities for home care organisations and care professionals to deal with the growing demand for elderly care amidst the nursing crisis across Europe,” says Eetu Koski, CEO Evondos Group.
“Vitacam allows healthcare professionals to monitor people at home without being there in person, enabling less travel and possibilities for preventative action. The broad presence and capabilities of Evondos will enable the further development and adoption of this technology.”, says Moyeen Ahmad, CEO of NE Device SW Oy.
