Professor & VIVALDI Study Lead,
University College London
Professor Laura Shallcross is a public health doctor and researcher at UCL. Her research focuses on improving the diagnosis and management of infection in NHS and social care settings using routinely available data. Laura leads the VIVALDI study, which was established in May 2020 in partnership with Providers to generate rapid insights into COVID-19 infection and immunity in care home staff and residents. Findings from VIVALDI on vaccine effectiveness, the burden of infection and the value of different infection control measures have provided critical evidence to support the Government’s response to the pandemic.
